インディーのロックバンド「エディターズ」のヴォーカル、トム・スミスと「レイザーライト」のドラマーだったアンディ・バロウズがユニットでレコーデイングしたクリスマス・アルバム『Funny Looking Angels』。。。
音楽を沢山聴けるラジオ局FIP(フイップ)をよく聴くんですが、昨日流れていたこの曲がとてもよかったんで思わず車を停めてメモしました。
８０年代後半に大ヒットしたブラックBlackの『Wonderful Life』をカバーしたものですが、テンポもよく歌い方もシンプル。正直いってオリジナルよりもずうっといい感じ。。。

先月１７日にあったデン・ハーグでのライブ。このスローなテンポもなかなかです。トム・スミスいいですね〜。
ほんとだ、この曲知ってる！笑

ジャケットもいい仕事してますね。力の抜け加減がまさにこの楽曲のとおり！
特に音を分厚く構築しているわけではないのに、
ボーカルもギターも凄く奥行きを感じますね。
ちょっと違うかもだけど、
デヴィッド・シルビアンみたいな声だなと思いながら聴きました。
私もこれ好きです。
